WSET Level 1 Award in Wines
Who is the course aimed at
Wine enthusiasts and consumers or those entering the wine or hospitality trades with limited wine knowledge. Students who are confident with their current wine experience or knowledge may begin their formal wine education with a Level 2 course.
What the course covers
The main styles and types of wine, the common grape varieties and their characteristics, how to store and serve wine and the principles of food and wine matching. Seven wines will be tasted in class and students will learn how to describe them using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (SAT).
Course Delivery
Six hours of class time (in person or online) and a 45-minute, 30 multiple-choice question exam at the conclusion of the course.
